Marty's Travels

My house has wheels

Boat relocated

I spent yesterday’s “work day” helping trim tree limbs, a never-ending job at this park. So we started by trimming the lower branches over my new boat parking place in the storage yard. Today I moved it over from the nearby commercial storage and put it away, so it’s easier to work on now, and I don’t pay a storage fee.

First priority is the trailer, and I’ve now got the parts in hand. I made a decision not to let this thing run my life, so whenever I feel like doing the work, I’ll do it. No schedules, no goals, no pressure. And no monstrous outflows of money. Yeah, right.

Things are still quiet here in the park, but there is increasing activity as folk dribble in for the summer. Locally, I expect to see the tourist season to start up pretty dramatically this weekend, which means traffic on 101 and in PT. Regionally, the festival season starts this weekend so there are major events everywhere either to participate in, avoid, or endure.

Yakima cherries, local raspberries, and blueberries will be making their appearance this week, kicking off a summer of plenty. Copper River salmon is here and crabbing starts in a week or so.

It’s been the best Spring for weather than I can recall, something I didn’t expect.
