My house has wheels

Races–Friday

More people came in today, so it looks like this weekend will be quite crowded. My favorite class is the Jets. These are like a typical business jet, all roughly the same power, speeds around 500 mph. The races are a bit quicker, and I get a good view from the top of my house.

I paid the $30 today for a stroll through the pit area. I’m glad I didn’t buy the week-long pass. You get a chance to see the performers up close, then a large array of other aircraft on display, then something like an RV show for new aircraft. It’s quite a show of the technology advancements made: the new ideas in a modern aircraft are amazing, sometimes exceeding absolutely every characteristic of speed, safety, sleekness, quietness, and control over everything invented so far. Quite interesting. You can get a very serviceable model, state-of-the-art, for $2 million list. But I can see those prices dropping a lot in a year or so.

Like yesterday, the rain and wind came at the end of the show, just enough to cool things down a bit.
