My house has wheels

Rain here

The sun came out today, after 7 days of clouds and rain. As is usual around here now, the wildflower display changes weekly.

I didn’t like sitting around indoors, but I was listening to the weather in Oklahoma, appreciating my situation here. The PNW rarely gets thunderstorms, rainfall, or killer winds like many places in the country.

And I try to avoid places and seasons where such weather drama usually occurs. But this last year I saw a sample of what people have to tolerate, and I didn’t like it at all. Thunderstorms are extremely irritating during the night, frequently threatening, and at times a source of deep concern. I kept my weather radio on all the time despite it’s annoying and frequent yelling at times. And one window on my computer always shows the local Doppler radar picture and I was constantly checking it. At times I was very uncomfortable, even scared.

So while I might complain about a little bit of drizzle and some gray clouds, I’m quite relieved I don’t have to live in constant vigilance of dangerous weather. Very relieved.
