I’m glad I sat out the storm at the Mill Casino and RV in Coos Bay, though the RV park is much better than the casino. The winds were pretty stiff yesterday. The drive to Lincoln City might be the most dramatic leg of an Oregon Coast drive, but it’s slow and narrow. Rain was heavy at times, but at other times the clouds parted and I could see the big breakers pounding away at the rocks. Construction work was frequent, especially on bridges, so there were waits at one-lane spots. They try to get everything fixed before the busy summer season starts.
Tomorrow I’ll go to Astoria, then Chimacum on Friday. I reached number 5 on the waiting list for a lot at the Escapee park there, and I’m guessing I’ll have a lot in 2 or 3 weeks. This would be a sale type of situation within their Cooperative structure. This is the reason I’m arriving early to the rainy PNW, I anticipated the timing and wanted to be on site for the transaction.
I’m looking forward to stopping for a while, I embarked on this trip a month ago.
