My house has wheels

Joshua Tree

Stiff winds are expected tomorrow so I’m sitting for two nights near the town of Joshua Tree, which is in between Twentynine Palms and Yucca Valley. There are no flowers of any kind to be seen.

I don’t like the Mojave Desert, especially the crappy-looking towns scattered here and there. The geology is plain and very uninteresting, there are very few natural formations of any interest whatsoever. Towns are always of the California Strip Mall and Shitty Houses style of desert architecture. The Mojave is a great place for solar power installations, though.

Ah, California. Gas prices are near $4, and a lot of stations charge even more for using a credit card at the pump. I’m in a spot without Verizon service (hard to find those) and am paying $7 a day for the parks’ wifi system. You pay real money for the sunshine in California.
