My house has wheels

Deming, NM

Far too windy yesterday to even think of making the run from San Antonio to Deming. The headwind was faster than I’d drive. In Albuquerque (Balloon Festival in progress) some boxcars were blown over on the mainline. So I watched the storm from the Buckhorn in San Antonio having their version of the green chile cheeseburger.

It died back in the evening and this morning I headed out. Now, Deming is the land of sun and wind, so the air is always moving here; I only encountered a bit of resistance as I approached town.

I’m parked at the Lows RV Ranch, the park owned by Loners on Wheels. There are more people here than at the Escapees park, and it’s quieter. The Escapees have been getting a little full of themselves lately and I don’t want to deal with their new reservation system. I can’t stand watching unpaid untrained volunteers struggling with a new computer system, so I’m avoiding those parks for 5 or 6 years until they get it figured out. I’ve been doing well lately with cash and negotiation at parks down here.

Here for a week at least, probably three weeks. I’m tired of driving, temperatures are in the high seventies.
