The Chapmans an I moved down the road a bit to a casino just north of Albuquerque. I got out of the useless RV park without paying, which was almost fair. The casino is ordinary, but that’s to be expected around here.
Anyway, we packed up and headed to the balloon festival for the evening meeting and potluck of the Escapees doing the balloons. It was a great chance to see people again, including my best friends of the Class of 2007 (we all started fulltiming in 2007). Finally caught up with Jim and Nance after several near-misses on the east coast. Linda and Ron I last saw in DC. Leland and Kathy came down from Montana. I think we’ll all be in generally the same area for a few months, so hopefully will cross paths again.
No balloons to be seen as it was evening, but a lot folks have already got rides. Being on the grounds and seeing the sights made me want to plan another trip to the festival soon. It is one of the best spectaculars in the country.
