Marty's Travels

My house has wheels

Life on the Peninsula

All is well here amongst trees, mountains, and the sea. Here at the Escapee park I’ve moved a few feet to the “weekly” parking area, the leaseholders are having their annual meeting, but then the crowds will leave.

Dave and Kathy moved over to Marrowstone Island, and I’ll do the same next week when my kids show up for tenting at the nearby state park. Last night Kathy made dinner for their neighbors, soon to be mine, and we had a great time. Tom is making a mid-life course change and is getting his certification in wooden boat building. Can’t think of a better place to spend a year or so doing boats. His shtick seems to be the old Chris Crafts, the motorboats that you see on Tahoe.

My oh my. A young fellow (twenties) just walked by in black pants, white shirt, and tie. Mormon, no doubt. I can save him a lot of time: There’s not a soul in this park willing to change any of their ideas on any subject whatsoever.
