My house has wheels

Texas

When I drive into Texas, I wonder how long it will be before I leave the state. Months, usually.

I left Kansas, crossed the Oklahoma panhandle, and am now in Shamrock. I’m following US83 which is certainly not a touristy route, though it does go through Abilene. The region is oilfields, cattle, minerals, cow food, and wind farms. The highway is sparsely used, mostly trucks and white pickups. With the exception of the wind machine blades, I seldom recognize a thing that goes by on a trailer around here.

It’s been three years since I’ve been in Texas.

The weather should be in the 90s, with no drama to worry about. Of course, it’s windy.
