Joshua Trees! And, it’s cold

On my way up here I was struck by a large grove of a yucca species, very similar to Joshua Trees, but a bit smaller, more compact. I asked the ranger today and he confirmed they were indeed Joshua, an isolated stand in just the right place to thrive. Joshuas grow in a very narrow band of elevation and latitude, so it’s always a treat to see them.

It was 28 when the sun came up this morning. There’s a bunch of cold air reaching down a tad bit far south to be considered usual. Tomorrow I head further north and higher yet in the mountains, and the forecast is for 25 and 56. No problem, I just burn propane like crazy.

It’s pretty here, though.
