My house has wheels

Truck work

Last week I replaced a pair of tires (because I do every summer), which didn’t fix a bouncing or hopping sensation, especially when braking. I’ll work on that one tomorrow.

Today I had my regular shop try to find a slow coolant leak that I’ve had for months now. I probably could just add water now and then and live with it, but small leaks can turn into a complete breakdown real fast. The shop found a heater hose seeping at high pressures (no biggie), and found a radiator leak. That’ll be expensive, but I was fearing head gaskets. The engine was analyzed on a quick drive and everything looked perfect, which is good news at 207K. They’ll do the work next week.

Then I gotta get that bouncing problem fixed, which is probably a rear brake. After that it’s a complete detail job at a great new shop in town to get the desert dust out of the truck that’s almost literally piling up after nigh on 10 years.
