Marty's Travels

My house has wheels

Ashland, Oregon

Yesterday I got off the freeway as high wind warnings went up in front me. I pulled into Redding RV Park and the rain started. This morning it looked like I could avoid the incoming rain and the high winds if I went straight to Ashland as fast as possible.

Competition from truckers at the Siskyous makes I-5 slow going, but that was the only hassle.

Rain is now in the forecast for the next several days, so I’ll likely stay put for a while. I’m at Emigrant Lake, part of Jackson County Parks. I’ve got full hookups overlooking the lake from a spot elevated on a hill. Great views, and only about 10 minutes to downtown.

Ashland is a surprisingly busy and hectic town for this time of year. College is in session, so that accounts for a bunch of the activity, but there is a lot more going on here than the Shakespeare festival. Since I’ll be rained-in for a few days, I’ll try to find out.
