Marty's Travels

My house has wheels

Back at Quartzsite

The forecast for the next week is about 50 for a high, 25 for a low. Slight chance of snow tomorrow. Add in a pretty good breeze, and I’m at an RV park with electricity. I’ll use my electric space heater with the cat heater as a helper if necessary, which is likely.

If it doesn’t snow it will probably drizzle, which will make Q weather and that of Seattle about the same.

The cold is going to damage lemon trees in Yuma, but it also kills the prickly pear cactus, which is not a bad thing.

But there’s a big advantage to bad weather at Q: The sunrises and sunsets can be breathtaking.

I try out different parking spaces around Q, just to mix things up a bit, maybe discover someplace interesting or useful. This time I’m in town on Kuehn road [at the Red Rose] just minutes from the downtown action. There’s not a lot of people here yet, so I got a great deal on the weekly rate. It’s another way to experience Quartzsite which doesn’t have many options for variety….
