I&#8217;ll leave it to you to google steampunk so I don&#8217;t have to try to explain it. I can&#8217;t anyway. The first gathering was tiny, just a few individuals.  This weekend is bringing out quite a crowd, with several venues for activities.<\/p>\n<p>The odd thing is why Port Townsend?  It has a literary angle, think Jules Verne, so maybe that&#8217;s it.  The colors are brass and bronze and brown, common in the wooden boat industry, so maybe that has something to do with it.<\/p>\n<p>Activities seem to be confined to getting dressed up in costume and talking about it.  Like a Renaissance Fair, or maybe like Tombstone, Arizona. There are a lot more props this year on exhibit, and an outdoor stage on a trailer.  The fortune teller cart has been in PT for years, but her cart is mightily spiffed up this year for this event.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s all very curious to me.  But then that&#8217;s not unusual in PT.
