She was born yesterday, weighed in (or is it out?) at 8 1\/2 pounds. Kate and Matt are doing well, though Kate looked a little tired to me today. Ada seems to be running on all cylinders: eat, sleep, cry, repeat. She has pretty hair, kinda like a strawberry blond.<\/p>\n
So it was a nice trip into downtown Seattle today, my first since arriving. There’s a lot of construction work, a lot of fancy new buildings, and the streets are messed up. I was struck by how many people walk around staring at their smartphones.<\/p>\n
As I got off the ferry I smelled the Asian food in the air, much like San Francisco. Nice. I’ll be going back frequently to partake at my favorite places this summer.<\/p>\n
Kate and Ada should be going home tomorrow. Ada’s big brother Lachlan (he’s two) seems to be on board because he got a hot wheels from his new sister as a gift.<\/p>\n
