As usual the visitor center has exhibits and a movie to get oriented, then its a driving tour through miles of monuments, statues, and sign posts honoring those that served and explaining the details of the long siege for control of the Mississippi River.<\/p>\n<p>Vicksburg is notable because it highlights the role of the navies in the Civil War.  There&#8217;s a recovered ironclad boat exhibit on the grounds, most intriguing.<\/p>\n<p>Nasty weather forecast for tomorrow, so I&#8217;ll be trapped indoors all day.
