The doctor was cool with my taking off for the winter as everything checks out. But he wants to go back to work in the spring when I return.<\/p>\n
I’m feeling great, but with some tiny aches and pains related to the surgery. And it will take a while to get the strength back in my legs I’ve lost over the summer.<\/p>\n
Next week I’ll pack up and head south, along the coastline. Highway 101 is my most favorite route anywhere, and I’ve yet to fully explore it. I’m hoping to spend a lot of time lingering in the towns along the way, sightseeing the back roads, and catching the Pacific Flyway bird migration at it’s peak.<\/p>\n
I can’t wait to get out of here. I arrived April 12, six months ago. Those six months were devoted to medical tests, doctor visits, and hospital stays. And a whole lot of sitting around waiting. I want to see the surf and redwoods.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
