In about eight years of going to this dentist, he’s never had to do anything at all on me, so I was anxious to see how he handled something other than looking. That wouldn’t happen because he hires one of the roving periodontists to do the work. Nice lady, and she did excellent work. Price for one extraction: $80, paid to the dentist. Prices like that always seem dreadfully low to me, but the dollar is worth more than ten times the peso.<\/p>\n
The way the Algodones folk do business is a tiny bit surprising at first to Americans. (Algodones is a Mexican town that specializes in pharmacies, dentists, and eyeglasses for Americans coming from Yuma. It’s their economy. Oh, and cool stained-glass windows for RV doors). The businesses abhor pointless overhead like fancy furniture and piped-in music (the radio suffices). Today my dentist announced they would now keep my records on file, so I no longer need to carry them with me. Limited file space. And no sense storing records of people that show up once for a cleaning and never return.<\/p>\n
